Boat Diver Specialty dive #2. Since it was up to me to plan the second dive as part of my training I decided on a drift dive at Fantasy Reef. I had often heard about it but never had a chance to dive there yet. The reef is AMAZING! There is so much life to see as you drift through the coral canyons and swim through the overhangs. One of the best drift dives I have done.

Drift Diver Specialty

Here in Hawaii we do a lot of Drift Diving because the currents are so strong in many areas that it is the best option for seeing a large area underwater quickly. You just enjoy the view as you float along with the current.

Since we do so much drift diving here I decided to make Drift Diver my next PADI specialty, which I completed today.

Notes:

Drift Diver Specialty dive. Drifted along the underwater cliffs and ledges near the sea cave, then explored the cave. Sea Cave was empty today, no sea life at all in there on this trip. Deployed surface marker to signal the boat to pick us up.
